Primary School

Laying the foundation for academic success

The Cambridge Primary Curriculum is an international education program designed for young learners aged 5 to 11 years. It is used in primary schools globally to provide a comprehensive and engaging educational experience. The curriculum is based on the values of the University of Cambridge and incorporates best practices in education.

Learning Objectives:
Each framework for subjects like English, Mathematics and Science is designed to guide learners through a progressive learning journey. The curriculum outlines what students should know and be able to do at each stage of their primary education.

Inquiry-Based Learning:
The Cambridge Primary Curriculum encourages an inquiry-based approach to learning. This means that students are actively engaged in exploring and investigating topics, which helps develop critical thinking skills and intellectual engagement.

Assessment:
The curriculum employs internationally benchmarked assessments to measure student progress and achievement. There are two main types of assessments within the Cambridge Primary Framework:
Cambridge Primary Progression Tests: These are assessments that are typically marked within the school. They help teachers track students' progress and understanding of the curriculum's learning objectives.
Cambridge Primary Checkpoint: This assessment takes place at the end of Year 6. It evaluates students' skills, knowledge, and understanding in English as a first or second language, Mathematics and Science. These tests are marked by Cambridge examiners and provide an international benchmark of learner performance.

Feedback:
Students who take the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint receive a statement of achievement and a diagnostic feedback report. This report offers insights into how a student has performed in relation to the curriculum, their learning group, the entire program, and against students worldwide who have taken the tests.
